This idea came to me recently while I was putting these two fine art black and white portraits 'to bed' as I like to think of it:
'My biggest fans have not been born yet'.
Let me explain...
The process of actually creating these portraits is always very meditative for me. I try to imagine what the world will be like a century from now - a time these portraits with only reasonable care will still be as beautiful as they are today. When I think BACK 100 years, I can barely wrap my head around the changes... air travel, computers, space travel, just to name a few! What will these portraits see in their long lifespan?
I mentioned 'putting them to bed' earlier, by this I mean the process of sealing them into their mats and frames - a process that always feels like I'm creating a time capsule for this family's future.
Who do I mean when I'm talking about fans who haven't been born yet? These children's children. These images will be absolutely priceless and irreplaceable in their lives, and I'm so very proud to have been a part of that.
