In the 21st century, everyone makes photographs every day. We have been blessed with devices that make creating photographs easier than at any time in the history of photography.
And boy do we make a LOT of them!
Most people will readily admit that they have so many images on their various devices and cameras that finding any one image is quite a chore. But, its very important that life's moments ARE captured, so all the fantastic ways to create photos today are a tremendous technological achievement.
You will probably also agree that the sheer volume of photography in your life has created a lot of 'noise'; hundreds of images on your own phone, tens of THOUSANDS of friends images on social media, etc. The effect of this noise is that less and less time is spent actually enjoying or making sense of the flood of images that wash over you ever day - click 'Like' , swipe, next - over and over and over.
If you find yourself spending a lot of time looking at the 'next' image and feeling it's not an image that means something to you that you never tire of looking at, you are looking for Legacy Photography.
What is Legacy Photography?
Legacy Photography:
-
Tells a story! By itself and even more dramatically as part of a collection curated over time.
-
Is not limited in style, but rather reflects the style of the subject's story.
-
Is created by a portrait artist as a work of art.
-
Is always delivered physically - as art for the walls in your home, or in the form of books, albums or treasure boxes.
-
Is Archival - they will stand the test of time for multiple generations.
-
Never requires an electronic device to be viewed and enjoyed.
Why are Legacy Portraits important?
In some ways that is the same as asking; 'Why is your family important?' Your family is your life expressed and Legacy Portraits are the living artistic record of that expression.
Throughout history, the foremost example of legacy portraits were of royal families.
Why? Because they KNOW that a family legacy is embodied by the visual memories of it's members over time, and because of this they put a premium on commissioning fine portraits of the family.
Today most anyone can afford to have Legacy Portraits commissioned for themselves.
It is not restricted to the 'elite' - it is for YOUR family, and you not only deserve it but will never regret your children having these beautiful artistic images to pass down the generations.
